About

Ready for a creative challenge? Come learn how to incorporate lettering into a papercut piece. We will work on experimenting with creating different lettering styles and cover how to transfer text onto paper so that it can easily be cut.

Some papercutting background is helpful, but if you're new and ready for a challenge you're welcome to come too!

If you can't make it in person, participants will have 30-day access to a recording of the workshop.

Suggested materials

  • Assorted paper (you'll want to cut on paper that's about the weight of printer or drawing paper, and if you're going to mount pieces bring something a little heavier, like cardstock or watercolor paper)
  • Craft knife + blade + self-healing cutting mat (note that some of these projects will be easier with a blade, but we will also cover options for scissors, so if that's all you have bring those)
  • Transfer paper (not necessary, but useful) or printer paper
  • Pencil
  • Eraser

Optional

  • Pen
  • Ruler
  • Glue
