About
What is creativity? How do we cultivate more of it?
Creativity is a vast and wide subject, and yet it mystifies many. But if we can better understand how it works, we can better put it into practice.
This special 4-part course has been developed by Andrea Slusarski to help deepend our understanding of creativity, and is designed for anyone interested in the inner working of the creative process. Consider it like a college-level course but interspersed with visual art and reflections!
Whether you're an artist, an educator, or simply creativity-curious, this course helps you to better tap into creative process and begin to make new creative connections to the world around you.

Course Objectives:
- Gain a deeper understanding of creativity through the study of psychology and personal reflection.
- Build your visual journaling practice and habits through creative prompts and community.
- Strengthen your creative connection through developing awareness of your creative process.
What to Expect:
- (4) Bi-weekly seminars by Psychology of Creativity professor and visual artist Andrea Slusarski | Drawing from Nature
- Creative Exercises - we’ll be engaging together on focused exercises to incorporate into your own journaling practice.
- Encouragement to dig deeper into your creative practice to strengthen your habits and studio practices.
- “Final Project” and Celebration of Creativity with your creative community!
Materials:
Please prepare with;
- Sketchbook (Visual Journal)
- Recommendation; Stillman and Birn Alpha Series Sketchbooks
- Drawing Utensils; Pencils, Pens, Ruler, Eraser
- Color Medium; Colored Pencils, Markers, Watercolor, i.e.
- Collage Tools; Sharp edge (scissors or exacto blade), Magazines/Images, Adhesives (tape, glue dots, glue stick)
- Recommend keeping together in a packable kit - helpful for habit building!

About Andrea Slusarski
Andrea “Slu” (she/her) is an artist and educator from Denver, Colorado. Fascinated by how learning is impacted by Creativity, her art and teaching processes are fueled by this curious study. Whether in creating or riding, Andrea connects her various “flow experiences” through her plein air sketchbook drawings, snowboarding, studio collaborations, and sharing Creativity with her students. Deeply inspired by these landscapes, she uses her voice to inspire others to embrace what makes them Creative & to get outside and PLAY!
